Cathexis Northwest Press is seeking poetry manuscripts from women currently living in the state of Oregon. Female-identifying Oregonians are encouraged to submit poetry manuscripts of any length. Finalists will be chosen by Cathexis Northwest Press, with the winner decided by guest judge Valyntina Grenier. Runner-ups may be considered for publication at the publisher's discretion.
Valyntina is an LGBTQIA multi-genre eco artist. She is the author of three poetry chapbooks and one full length collection. You can find those books at Finishing Line Press, Cathexis Northwest Press and various places where books are sold. She studied poetry at UC Berkely and Saint Mary’s College of California. You can find her, her visual art and links to her work around the web at valyntinagrenier.com
"Female-identifying Oregonians came to mind when C.M. offered me the opportunity to set some parameters for this project since I’ve recently moved to Eugene. I’m curious to see if there is a uniting sensibility among the poems and poets living here. The books needn’t be about Oregon but I’d be glad to learn about our state from your poems. I will happily read chapbooks and full-length collections in a broad range of forms. I’ve most recently enjoyed reading books by Dione Brand, Nathalie Handal, Brenda Hillman and Susan Briante. Some favorite poems are by Jorie Graham, June Jordan, Barbara Jane Reyes and Sara Sams."
